Exclusive Hardwood Re-Dried for Reno's Arid Climate

Nevada's Arid Climate

Wood Milling

Floorcraft follows acclimatization guidelines to insure product stability but also takes it one step further. Most hardwood manufacturers mill their hardwood products for all climate regions, but Reno has an exceptionally dry climate. We are proud to present our exclusive line of products that have been re-dried PRIOR TO MILLING for this high desert climate.

This means that movement from loss of moisture takes place before the pieces of lumber take on the final shape of the flooring. It also means that the flooring planks are consistently low in moisture. Take advantage of a mill that is also located in a dry climate zone and understands the problems associated with hardwood in a dry climate.

Hardwood flooring vs. Arid Climates

There are many micro climates and all are not created equal and most hardwood flooring mills are located in forested areas. Forests are typically more humid environments. The hardwood flooring materials have traveled through many climates prior to arriving at to their final destination.

Hardwood flooring must be acclimatized to the environment at which the future installation will take place. We recommend placing the flooring materials inside the location prior to installation. This timeframe of the adaptation process varies on many factors including type of wood, board dimensions, season and weather conditions, etc.
